In the last couple of days I have turned the key to on for the prewarm up etc. and no lights or anything else happens on the dash. The first time it happened I just thought I was missing something. then it happened again. Once I turn the key to off and then back to on everything functioned just fine let the grid heater light go out and then I started it. I do not have a remote starter or anything other than the normal chipped key. My three year warranty is about up so If you have any ideas that would be great.

hmm. no brilliant suggestions. batteries in truck OK? does the key have a battery and does it need changing? best bet might be is it fully in park? I have another (much older) car and it sometimes won't start unless I physically hold the lever past the normal detent in the park setting; keep meaning to adjust the internal switch. any CELs?

I had this issue once with my 2013. Unlocked the door stuck the Fisherprice key fob in the dash turn it and nothing No dash lights no radio nothing at all. I had to remove the key fob and hit the unlock button again. as soon as I did everything came back to life. I have had the radio also not wake up it will be stuck on the last station it was tuned to. The screen will show the radio number and all the presets will say hold to set but you can't tune to anything else or other time it will just say searching for signal. each time it does this the truck has been parked in the hot sun. Only way to get anything back with the radio is to park it and wait about 15 min and try again.... I know this is not the answer you are looking for but maybe someone from RAM can chime in.....

Time to take it in and get some use out of your warranty. There is no way to accurately diagnose with out the correct scanner

I did take it in and they updated some parts of the computer and saidd it would take care of it. It has not happened again yet but I have not driven it a whole lot either.
Thanks for the reply's.

That's the typical line I hear from my dealer, if your fix is specifically listed in the "update", you're OK, otherwise this is just the first step in the repair process.

I have a 2014 Dodge and when I use the key fob to start it from the house, it always worked. A couple of weeks ago I hit the key fob twice and did not hear the horn honk. Went out to the shop, climbed in, had the key fob with me. Tried to start the truck but all I got was one clinking sound. Had it towed to the dealer. They said the battery on the passengers side was to low to allow the truck to start. They said they would charge it, which they did. Said come and get it. Told them I would not accept this happening to a new Dodge with 1699 miles on it. I demanded they put a new battery in, which they did. Have had no problems since then.

There is no logical reason why one battery should have been low unless said battery was defective. They both charge from the same system and should be balanced as far as charge goes. Good thing you insisted on a new battery. I think you had a defective one that could have taken out the other battery.
