Hey, Im Brand New Here, And Im Sure This Has Been Discussed Before. I Have A 97 2500 194000 Miles And Until Now Have Not Played With The Motor To Much. I Just Installed 300 Hp Injectors (wow Big Difference) And Now I Want To Do A Little More. A Few Years Ago I Installed A Banks Stinger Plus Kit, But Last Year Replaced The Exhaust With 4" Stacks. HOW DO I TURN UP THE PUMP? Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks

get a fuel plate #0 should do just fine. Delivery valves, 3k or 4k GSK, AFC spring kit. oh by the way check the classified ads for a #0 plate.

Where are u lacated at??

Where are u located at??? There is tons of dieselholics on this forum in every state that would be gladto meet up with u and help put a bigger smile on ur face. If ur near ohio I would be willing to help u. Or just site and read it is all on this site. Thanks Justin

A quick thing to do is back off the afc and/or remove the small cover on back and twist in the fuel screw.

WHILE ALL THIS ADVICE IS BEING GIVEN HAS THE DOWEL PIN BEEN ADDRESSED???????????? or remided, or fixed. That would be one of my first projects.

Let The Booming Begine

Welcome J Rosengrant,

Not sure what's included in the stinger plus kit but... .

Do you have an auto or a stick? If you fill out your profile in your User Control Panel it'll help us help you :) . Definitely get a set of gauges before getting started with adding more fuel. Start with a cam plate in the pump, I bought mine from TST , it's an easy install and they send you a video with it. Look at the info from TST and do some reading here to decide what plate is best for you, also it will depend whether you have an auto or stick. I don't think I'd spend money on a 0 plate, it's essentially a stock cam plate ground flat which you can make later with your old one and it may not necessarily be what your looking for. A set of governor springs (GSK) shouldn't be far behind, that'll help deliver more fuel to a higher RPM. I've bought most of my parts from Piers Diesel , they're good people, honest and always willing to help out.

Have Fun,

Mike

Im Located In N. e. Pa, I Do Have Engine Temp And Boost Gauges, Also Would Like To Install Trans Temp And Fuel Pressure Gauges. I Have An Auto Trans (4th One). the Dowell Pin, Again No Clue. I Do Have A Cam Plate Dont Remember What Size, Im Going To Check To Make Sure What I Have. I Have Owned This Truck Since 98 And Never Did More Than Basic Maintenance. I Heard About Tdr Before But Never Joined(what The Heck Was I Thinking) I Am So Addicted Now. Everyone Is Great, Thanks For The Help And I Hope To Be Able To Help Out Also. Cant Wait To Keep Making My Truck Better With The Help Of Everyone. Thanks Again Jr

AFC= Air Fuel Control, or aneroid, smoke limiter, puff limiter, etc. Limits fuel rack travel untill air pressure from turbo moves it out of the way, so to speak.

Dowell pin= A locating dowel on the timing cover in an open hole, it can fall into the gear train and break the cover.

A search here on either topic would lend PILES of results, I'm sure. Dads old truck was the only thiing I ever worked on that had the AFC (as far as bosch P-pumps), and I never got to it. Its the "tower" looking thing on top of governor.

heres the dowel pin info. being a 12valve, a fuel pressure gauge is not needs. if you want one, go for it, but you shouldnt worry about that too much. having an automatic, you cant put too much power throught therer before oyu need to upgrade.

sounds like a gsk

should be your next step after the KDP. unless your looking for tons of power, you delivery valves are more that enough. in fact, ive got the 022's and there coming out soon. your gonna want to get that transmission worked on before you go much higher in hp. have fun and welcome
