You mentioned that maybe you did not wanna see'em front the front. You gotta be real careful not to exhaust them too low and close to the cab as the fumes swirl around and come back into the cab.

Know from experience!

I think bull haulers would be to big for a pickup,, but they look nice and they are functional on a cattle truck for sure!

My main concern is still being able to go in my garage as well as parking garages if I have to. I only make it by inches. My antenna scrapes as it is. I will have to measure but I know I don't have a lot of room to play with.

just had my stacks installed a couple days ago. unbelievable how good they sound. went with the 5" mitre cuts. the straight pipe is a bit on the loud side, but at an idle, they sound very close to the same as with a muffler. as soon as i figure out the picture thing, i'll post some. :D

Has anyone put stacks in after they had a bedliner sprayed? Should I put them in before I do line x or something similar?

I think it would be better if you drilled the holes first so the liner can "wrap" around the edge of the hole.

if you did it after i think you might have a chance of water getting inbetween the liner and your bed

Mine were installed after my spray in liner. There is no "seperation" between the sprayed liner and the bed so there shouldnt be any problem with moisture. The more I think about it the happier I feel installing mine afterwards. With the pipes installed it may have been harder for the installer to spray around the entire hole and make sure it is coated.

I tried using a cheap holesaw and it barely even scratched my bed. let alone a spray in bedliner. I ended up using a cutoff wheel.

Thats why its not a poll option!!!! :-laf No hard feelings to the guys that have them. They look good on a dually!

lol, agreed, I don't think you can go wrong with the other choices, but I think for a quad short, either a single turnout in the pass corner or a pair of miters looks best

Dual stacks seem somewhat time consuming to me. A single is pretty straight forward and much cheaper. Not that I would cut corners. Has anyone ridden in both a 1st gen with stacks as well as a 2nd gen. I have only ridden in a 1st gen with dual 6in mitres and it was insanely loud. How would those compare. I am assuming turnouts are the quietest?

I think I am swaying toward a single turnout. There was someone on here a while back that put a single turnout on a garnite red (maroon just mine) 12 valve. Anybody know who that was? I would like to get some info from him. Also Does a 6in single look out of place or should I stick with a 5in?

I had a 97 single cab... the miter cuts were INSANE with the windows down... they were pretty painful w/ the windows up...

a lot of sound deadener helped, but they would still beat on you on the highway...

I put turnouts on it, and there really wasn't any difference with the windows up, but with the windows down, the turnouts were WAY better... these stacks were exactly the same height as the roof.

a quad cab won't be as bad inside as a single cab, but I would HIGHLY recomend installing some good sound deadener... do the back wall of the cab and the roof first off with stacks... if you can do the floor and doors it'll be that much nicer. I developed a nice technique w/ applying sound deadener with this truck :D
