B & W Turnover Ball Hitch

A little more..

I plan to have a B&W turnover ball hitch installed for pulling our horse trailer. I was wondering WHERE the hitch should be placed?

Over the axle?

Behind the axle?

In front of the axle?

Seems to me that the best place would be right over the rear axle.

I appreciate any advice.

The directions will tell you so far from the tailgate on a sortbed and further on a long bed,it will only line up in one place, it is slightly toward the front of rear axle.

The hitch ties in to several existing holes in the frame, therefore it'll have to be in one place.

On my short bed it looks to be about 6" ahead of the rear axle. JRMora is right, the hitch picks up several factory frame holes - so measure twice, cut once.

Whoever is installing the hitch will have to follow the measurement instructions to the letter. It will only fit in one location and fit into the predrilled holes in the frame. Measure the location of the 4" hole carefully. It all starts from that point. ;)

hole location

btw hole location will be 45 1/2 short bed and 47 1/2 long bed from the tailgate on 1306 hitch models. the one in the picture is a 1303. 1303 will fit all 3rd gen non mega cabs ( and non new style cab and chasis) 1306 will fit all including mega cabs ( but not new cab and chasis )
