Anybody out there own a turqouise 2nd Gen. ? I've only seen a few of them and was very dissappointed when this color wasn't available for my truck. What years had this color? I'm surprised that this color is no longer available, seems like it would be very popular.
There was one on the lot at Vancouver Dodge a couple of months ago and I asked one of the lot chasers whether it had been repainted. He said it was a 1999 color only, and that DC had put out a lot of odd colors during the '98 -'99 year. I haven't seen it again.
It looked like a custom truck and stood out amongst all of their others and kinda' tempted me but it was 2WD.
Our 96 was all white and we had the dealer paint the bottom
( midway down) with the teal ! It is the only one I have ever seen painted this color. The dealer used the factory paint. By using the factory paint and not a "special" paint any damage that might have occured could easily be fixed and matched. Like any damage would ever happen !
This color was available 3500's in 96 & 97 I think. My 96 was painted that color with white for the other color of the water fall. It made for a good looking truck. My wife loved it.
I have the Bright Jade color on my 97 2500. 97 was the only year it was available. In 96 there was a bluish color (which may be what you are referring to) that was no longer available in 97. When I ordered the truck, the dealer required a larger deposit as they were afraid they would not be able to sell the truck if I backed out of the deal as they had never seen that color on a Ram. I have only seen one other Ram in my area with the jade and that was years ago. I have seen a few Dakotas and Jeeps in jade in my travels.
Your truck is the color I was referring to. So it's called "bright jade", looks more like turqoise to me. Nice looking truck, wish mine was that color.
