After many GM trucks (all gasser's) am close to buying first Dodge Truck. The pull is the CTD. Will be 3500, AT, SRW, QC, 4WD.

Been reading this (and others) forums for many months now and have convinced myself the Dodge CTD is the way to go. Will be using it for a med weight slide-in and mid-length TT. The 3500 and the CTD probably an overkill but feel better with some margin... . and it allows a size moveup option.

It also appears these newer CTD/Dodge trucks are more prone to needing problem solving/dealer work than the older bullet-proof Cummin's engines.

SO... Those of you who live in the eastern Twin Cities, Western WI, do you have any comments on which dealers IYO have good CTD service departments? Guys that know these CTD's... Dealerships close to me are in Hastings, Lake Elmo, So St Paul, Roseville,MN and New Richmond and Hudson, WI

... ..... Any personal good or bad comments on these or any others in your opinion? Experience is a good testimonial.

I Know several dealer techs that are qualify to do repairs when necessary on stock truck . On the other hand I have had some less than satisfied service with some Dealer service managers, PM me for details or send email. Your Money will be well spend on this forum and truck.

Since you mention hauling a camper, towing a TT, AND upgrading in size you might consider a DRW. Now is the time to consider and not wishing or upgrading later - speaking from experience here. :)

For some real enjoyable reading you might consider doing a search on SRW versus DRW posts  :-{} :{ :-laf

I don't know about the east side of the metro, but stay as far away from Hopkins Town and Country Dodge as possible. They are a bunch of incompetent crooks, and that is on a good day.

I know a great place to buy a CTD :)

AND I would strongly disagree with the above comment, T and C has a great service department.

T & C has a great service department if you do not mind service managers trying to force "regular maintenance" down your throat that does not appear in the owners manual. They have invented their own service schedule and they work very hard to intimidate their clients into their service schedule. It is also a great service department if you don't mind 4 trips to diagnose a bad fuel pump. They have a great sales department if you do not mind spending two days negotiating with them to get them to match another dealers offer that you bring in writing. I have mentioned all of this and more in past posts. I blew off the first bad experience there as being bad luck, same for the second. After that, I started to get upset. Never been to Shakopee Dodge, but I may have to give the place a try. I know that Lagers Dodge in Mankato has the best service department I have ever dealt with.

I bought my 95 V10 and 2003 CTD from T&C. I have no complaints at all. The few times I had to bring anything in, they handled it quickly and correct the first time. :)
