I have been e-mailing a member who has installed a twin ram intake that is made for 94-98 trucks. he custume made an intake plate to do this. my Question is, is there a difference in the intake plate for a 94 and 93 truck? I looked at the banks kits on line and they sell the intake plate with the twin ram. so will i have to fabricate a new one as well or is there a chance of making the 2nd gen plate work?

banks was telling me it was a 30hp gain (with the rest of there package) on 2nd gens and big decrease in egts and smoke. the system spreads the amount boost equally to all cylinders and elimates "hot spots". Gives much more flow

From what I have found, the bolt pattern is the same. While fabricationg my new intake I was looking at all options and found I'd have to make a different intake plate. The problem remains as to where to install the intake sensors (move them) and then the interference with injection lines. It looks like there is a good spot to install a second horn directly behind the factory or move the factory horn forward a bit. The bolt pattern may require some change too as the horn bolts into the head not just the thin cover.

It would be a project but could be done @ home for much less than $600. I'm one to look @ the Banks components and make my own versions. I'm not going to pay for their engineering.

Twin Ram Intake

Hello, i am the member that J Luechauer has been e-mailing, with the twin intake on my 93 350. The intake plate that was supplied by Banks bolted perfectlyon the cylinder head of my 93. The banks twin ram intake would not clear the injector lines , and had to be moved foreward several inches, just enough room to clear the injection lines. The air intake sensors were relocated in the new intake plate behind the manifold, just an easy drill and tap fixed that. The most difficult task was fabricating injector supports, without disturbing the stock original injector lines. This setup works great with much less smoke from the POD injectors... ... ... . except at idle. Rick.
