Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Twin turbo set-up?

Well, my twin turbo install has come to a screeching halt for the time being. I need to remove the trans and replace a defective pilot bearing. So much for having the cold side piping welded out this week. I should be able to finish the trans work during the course of this week if I tackle it after work each night for a couple of days. I would like to post a picture or two of what I have completed thus far as a few individuals have requested visuals via private e-mail. I just need someone to explain how to post a picture. Thanks

when you reply to a message or start a new thread... . right below the text dialog box that I'm typing in right now there is a dialog that says: attach file Beware that the maximum file size is 32KB... anything bigger than that and vBulletin spits it back at ya... . keep the image size to 400x400 pixels too... it will spit out anything bigger than that too.

Then: click on "Browse" and locate the image file you wish to attach... . and make it happen.

More Twin Turbos

I have a couple pics of my current twin turbo setup, but I don't seem to be able to get the pic into a post. The pics aren't on the www.

the pics don't have to be on the web... . they have to be on your hard disk drive so that when you click 'Browse' you can point vBulletin to where the pic file is located (floppy, Zip disk, CDR, etc... )

Show me the twin-turbo pics!!

I got real close to pulling that off but no cigar.

My computer only displayed part of the contents of my desktop where the pics are. I couldn't capture the pic to include it in the post. I tried to move it and then capture it onto the post, didn't work.



Guess I'll try again.

Won't tolerate my file cause it's a tif file, not jpeg.



I found a .jpg file to insert but it was to big!!!

Not sure how to shrink a pic file. Doesn't matter cause the turbo pic format isn't supported here.

You could email me the pic... I could shrink it and convert it to a .jpg so that you could post it.....

.jpg's use a crappy codec for compression, but we'll have to live with it...

Here's a picture of the cold side adapter that I will be welding to the piping for the intake. Sorry the picture is so small. I don't know which is more difficult... posting a decent-sized picture or fabbing out a twin turbo system!

Has anyone dyno`d thier trucks before and after installing thier twin turbo set ups? I know the main goal we are all trying to achieve with these set ups is lower E. G T. s therefore having more useable H. P. but I am curious as to how much extra H. P. is gained without adding any more fuel to the setup.

I'm sure someone else will chime in with more 'knowhow'... . but if you don't change the fueling, then you won't be making any more power. You can even crank the heck out of the boost, but all you will be doing is burning the fuel more completely that was there before you went to twins... .

The spool must be interesting... . someone who has a setup will have to talk about that.

The actual horsepower that would be gained JUST by installing this setup probably wouldn't be much... .

The real difference is how much fuel you will be able to add before the EGT's get out of hand... . that's where you make the power. The twins setup is capable of a LOT of boost, so this equates to being able to run lots of fuel for more HP.

I just finished welding out the cold side piping. I still need to clean up the welds and paint but would like to post some pictures for those who are interested. I have the turbos staged and indexed on the bench with all piping hooked up. The next step is to fabricate the oil return lines. I'm hoping to do that this week while the transmission is out of the vehicle. HoleshotHoleset would you like to assist in posting the pictures? I have had very little luck in my previous attempts.
