Hi all, how much power would you get? also what would i have to do to my truck to support the twins? and how much would somthing like that cost? and could it still be my main means of transportation ? Thanks in advance

The power you will get from the twins will be based on the other mods you have on your truck. I have the BD twins on my truck and it is my daily driver. I am as well a BD dealer and the twins they have put together in their kit were built specific for daily driving and towing very quick spoolup and they provide low egts in the 550 rwhp range. They come wastegated at 50lbs of boost so you don't have to necesarily oring your head. If your looking to build 600+ hp then I would visit Piers diesel research and also beef up your transmission.

To run twins youn will need to pull your head and have it O-ringed. I would also recommend using studs when putting it back together..... Cost of twin setup $4000+ for everything. O-ring the head $300, studs $400-$450, add another $100 for a good headgasket. These prices are for do it yourself install.

You can run twins everyday if they are set up right.

I have the BD Twins as well, and by the amount of oil in my radiator I think it is necessary to o-ring your head. They are great for a daily driver though. :)

The twins aren't going to give you much HP. The reasons for twins are to get the large volume of air that is needed to keep EGTs down when you start dumping the large volumes of fuel needed to make the power and still allow you have have quick spool up. If you just had one huge turbo on there it would do the job, but your spool up would suck really bad, hence the twins. A small one for spool up, and a large one to provide the necessary volume of air when you are dumping fuel in at higher RPMs.

Twins also compliment each other, in that the upstream turbo in the intake will further compress what it receives from the downstream turbo. Another thing is you have to run within the efficiency map of each turbo you are running or it will, A. heat up the air charge so much that it will not provide any cooling value for your EGTs, and/or B. come apart and take out your engine.

You can buy a kit that has been R&Ded and set up perfectly, or if you don't mind some legwork and guessing, it can be done much cheaper. Mine are the cheaper way. I have put down 577/1067 with only 1400 degrees and #2 only.

You probably didnt blow your headgasket from boost pressure. You blew it because of all that timing propane, injectors and drag comp twins didnt cause your radiator problems.

I don't see how that was possible with the propane off.

Thanks for all the information, So what would you guys do to my truck to make more power? Everything is in my sig except I have a comp box, I would like to use it for now as my daily driver and to pull some trailers.

I guess I thought twins would give me more power. So thank you for telling me what not to do. Unless I get more fuel (right) :)

I guess my sig did not come up.

I have BD triple x injectors, afe intake, 4 inch ex, comp box, Bd torqe converter and valve body,354 gears thanks

Bigger injectors are what you need to make more power. What brand, size, etc. is up to you. You might consider a fuel pump upgrade if you haven't already got it.

Twins do give 8-15% power increase over most singles and 3-500* egt drops. A good set of twins using your stock turbo, an external WG, and a B2 will be good to 550hp and upgradeable to ~700hp. All for under $3k ready to bolt on.

A good 500hp combination is...

100-120hp (stage 3 or 4) injectors, A drag comp (or timing +fueling box), and twins. You should be able to sustain 500hp as long as you can keep coolant temps down.

At 500 hp and no drugs the head gasket SHOULD live if boost is limited to under 55psi. When it blows, a good surfacing of the head and studs should suffice if you're not planning on 550+hp. Beyond that o-ringing is neccessary

I'll assume you have solved any fuel supply problems (lift pump, banjos, etc)

When installing twins 5" exhaust is a good Idea (the downpipe is usually 5" )
