I don't think that it is as simple as installing a p-1700 (eventhough that isn't really all that simple) on a first gen engine. If you look close, there are differences in internals. The bottom end in our engines is heavier then the inline engines. This may not be a huge margin, but when considering hp improvements, the small details are the ones that mean the most, sometimes. It is amazing that we can make the hp we do, but, it would be real nice to find the time to stare at and measure all of the parts that go into different CPL# engines. I am currently trying to find out what pistons, crank, rods, etc. go into the highest hp "B" and then compare those part numbers to that of our engines. When I get these numbers straight, I'll let you know. And, I am excluding the marine 370 engine from this due to the fact that it is built for a totally different purpose then our lil' "B's"
