Trouble with 2004

stack w/TST or replace w/Comp

Well I went for a spin this evening up my dyno hill. With my Dodgezilla as a single at a steady 35 lbs of boost egt was around 1250 deg. With the stage 2 head and the addition of an HT3b 23cm up the same hill at 35 lbs of boost it runs around 850 deg. Thats pre turbo by the way.

Wow, thats what I cal EGT reduction. What made you go with the 23 housing instead of the 26. Piers decided to drop the 23 cause the difference was negligible at best and was not worth the added cost. :)

So I would think you are pretty happy now eh Ron !!! What housing is on you Dodgezilla turbo Ron? What are your max boost #'s now?

Blair.

It is a ported 14 housing. Most boost yet is 44lbs, but I haven't gone full throttle yet. I want to re-torque the head one more time to be sure. Then I am going to move the camplate to 3/4 forward and see what happens. It's 1/2 forward now. Fuel on the bottom end is fine. I want to be careful. I was over the torque rating for the SB OFE before I added the second turbo.

Sounds good Ron, very similar to my set up. Don't worry about the clutch mine has held more than 550 but won't hold if you speed shift it. Sounds like things are finally working out for you.

I sure do like the sound of that. In one week,Doug at ADT will be installing my PDR towing twins and exhaust. Hes pulling my head and going through it including o-ringing & studs. I sure will be looking forward to picking it up when its done! Dave

Tell me one thing. Why the 26 or 23 housing? All the twins around here that I know of with the 3B on the bottom, has the 36 housing. Why the 26? There does not seem to be a spool problem.

. . PT. .

What PSI are you guys putting out with the 3B and the big housings on(Big Charger alone) that's really not that big of a turbo but works very well and is cheap!

Jim

Hey Jim, I thought you ran a 3B on the bottom for a little while.

Old setup... ... yea a little while, 25K worth! I never measured what boost it was putting out but I was told it should be 35 psi based of R&D that was done with a 3B/26 setup!

Hey Jim my 3B puts out 30 lbs at 55 lbs total boost with the 23 housing. With the wastgate shut for towing it puts out 18 lbs at 50 lbs total.

Mine really wasn't cheap. Mine is a BHT3B (Garrett) 23 cm housing. The Borg Warner was the cheap one. I think it was $380. 00

I did it because I have an auto and drive @ 4700' elev.

That's odd - all the twins setups I have ever seen had the 26cm² housings on them...

Maybe I ought to just try the 36cm² housing I have on my brandy-new in the box HT3B... when I finally do twins on one of the trucks...

Matt:

If you remember the trucks from Georgia in Muncie, they have the 3B on the bottom and all have the 36 housing. True, the trucks were drag trucks but the one that was blue and gray is driven every day. I just do not understand why the 26 housing. Towing 20K lbs. Well maybe.

I didn't get to look under the hoods... and I don't remember any specific truck outta GA...

Matt

I didn't watch the drags from start to finish...

Heck - I must not have watched them very closely at all... I didn't even realize the green truck was 2WD!
