I'm installing my twins, a used pdr set, I know I should build a bracket for the bottom turbo, but I don't feel like it. I can always do this "later", but later takes awhile to come around, just ask the wife. So yes or no? Anybody have any pictures of bottom turbo brackets?

better safe than sorry, that bottom turbo is big and weighs alot. 2 turbos plus the hot pipe all hanging from the 4 studs on the ats manifold, spending that much $$ on the setup, dont cut a corner now.

Doesn't the kit come with a bracket? I thought the PDR kit was all bolt on and ready to go, but if the kit requires you to fab a bracket up, then I guess that is what ya got to do.

my PDR twins came with a bracket. the flat stock(bracket) is pre-bent but needs cut to length ,,drilled to line up with a bolt hole in the block and welded to the bottom turbo oil drain.

i don't have a mig welder but as soon as i get access to one the bracket will get installed.

like bandit1 says,,it's a lot of weight hanging off 4 studs. hey!!,,i'm the one who told him that :-laf

i talked to a few twin builders and it's about 50/50 on having the bracket.

I bought my kit used, I guess it didn't come with all the parts. :( Harry at Piers is gonna hook me up, they normally don't sell twins parts, but I'm special. :D

Truck has been down for awhile. I got the head fire ringed, double valve springs, HD push rods and arp studs. I'm getting some custom injectors made and getting a HD intercooler. I'm excited. Oo.

Swayse,

I got your email. Spent all afternoon and evening getting my son stitched up. He discovered that all those tools in the lathe turret are sharp. As soon as I get some coffee down the hatch I will get some pictures taken and out to you. The bracket that I got in the kit was pretty simple. Two pieces of hot rolled strap, one with two holes and the other with angles on the ends. A farm guy can whip this out while the rolls are baking and the turkey is cooling. By the way, Happy Thanksgiving Day.

You can also use the 2 holes on the back of the block below the cylinder deck and fab a bracket to hold the bottom charger very solid.

Thanks for the pictures. My truck has been down for about 5 weeks, it's driving me crazy. Chevy gassers are just so boring.

The bracket I showed you is probably all that is needed. But personally I would rather have a beefy one that would hold up the bottom turbo and eliminate twisting. I have my 26 housing laying on the surface plate right now. I want to make a beefier bracket so I can do some playing with a new hot pipe. I need the bracket to support the bottom turbo and the hotpipe in a fairly rigid manner. Brad Ponci uses holes farther back and I think a little higher. Heard his set up was solid. This set up holds up the turbo but allows it to twist easily if you unbolt the hotpipe.
