Got the twins running... Oo.

Some questions:

I seem to remember reading that the stock intercooler is only good for about 45 psi. Can anyone verify this?

I saw a brief spike to 50 psi and the hoses moved around a bit. I moved one back, but then decided to just tighten the rest of them up where they were. Any advice on how to keep them on? What are you high boost guys doing for intercoolers & hoses?

I LOVE it btw - it will spool 40 psi, right now (as in immediately).

As posted above, hairspray is great for keeping hoses on. Make sure the tubes and hoses are clean, then spray some cheap hairspray onto the tubes and slide the hoses on. The hiarspray acts as a lube to make the hoses easier to get on and when it dries, it's like glue.

I was running up to 75 psi on my 99 and never had a problem with the stock intercooler. I tried everything to keep the boots on and finally had to weld a small lip around the ends of the tubes. Never had a problem after that. I had to use marine exhaust hose as I kept blowing all the others including silicon.

How did you make the transition from the 3" to 3. 5" ?

Thanks for the experience with the intercooler - Mr. B says he's got applications with the 5-ply hose running 100psi - they're also 3/4" longer than stock on each end - so you could double clamp if necessary, although it may not be necessary.

As an aside - I absolutely cannot believe how quick it spools, wish it was quicker though. :-laf Can't wait to be able to get on it without worrying about blowing the hoses off...
