Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Twins Twins Who's Twins?

Ok it’s time to step up to the plate and put a twin setup in my truck. I just want to buy a complete kit with everything from manifold to exhaust pipe. I want a setup that will handle 700 hp with no problem. I tow maybe 3 times a year and is at 10,000 lbs total. I want to be able to daily drive it to. I have 180 injectors, power max 3 (drag race) edge ez and looking to get nitrous. I am pulling the head to get it ringed and getting head studs what else should I do? I would like to replace the cam at the same time but don’t know about the springs or what would be a good cam to go with. I am looking for all input on kits to get and from whom. I don’t want to start a war on this I just want good info on twins for my wants.



PS I want to run 12's in the 1/4 (1 ton dually 4x4?)

Hum? Well read more of my post and it asks what does it take to get to 700 with twins (kit). I don't remember me saying that I was staying with one thing like just #2. I want info on what it takes and from people who can do it.

Make 700, sure that's doable! 700 on a 24V is a bit of a chore but can be done without N2O. Tow with 700... ... no way. Tow with a 700 HP capable Twin set, yep you can do it but you will be around 500 HP towing. Even if you can make more you will have EGT issues or coolant temp issues.

Phat Shaft 66 and the same Big Brother!



The 40/BB or a 40/3B works real good but I'm still not sure that the B/B is best suited for the 40, It seems like the 3B is a better match. The 66 and the B/B are matched very well together and if I add more fuel I may have to add a small gate to the hotpipe to slow the B/B down a bit and get rid of more air out of the motor... ... we'll see.

I've got a set of twins that spool like an HX-35!! LOVE THEM! My advice on twins, DO IT and don't worry about the cost. Once they are done, you'll be more than satisfied. I would be more than happy to vouch for the performance and reliability of twins.

Nope, currently the B/B is running in the low 30's on boost... . right were it needs to be, if it gets up to the 40 area I'll have to calm that down a bit as it's out of the map... . to me because the air gets too hot.
