Competition Twisted Billet input shaft

Dave @ Goerends tore into my built transmission today to see why I only had FORWARD gears after my trip to the drag strip Friday night.



I had my transmission set up with a 48RE front clutch drum, and to fit that drum in they machine the 47RE hub to accept it. I broke the hub. . but still managed to put about 400 miles on the truck between the drag strip and home, and between home & Dave's



Upon inspection of the input shaft, I twisted that about 1/4 of a spline



I will post pics when I pick the truck up tomorrow.



Guess 40PSI is too much boost to launch at!!

I was just curious becuase the shafts in my transmission are from Opie and they have seen around 20 50psi launches and 100+ 30psi launches with no breakage. I hope you get it figured out. Nothing is worse than transmission issue's.

This working stuff is hard on my diesel free time.



If you still have the stock flexplate you better change it out while your in there. When a flexplate fails you will hear noises coming from your truck that you would never think possible.

Shoot i cannot even get up to 15-20 psi launches without breaking stuff 6-10 is all i can manage but i dont really need anymore because it sounds like its already lit and the transmission oil starts to smell burnt also.



More power to you guys launching at the higher boost.

TCS shafts were in my transmission.

Dave gets shafts from TCS & Sonnax.

Just to clarify, the shaft did not snap, it just twisted about a 1/4 of a spline.
