Well I am in Kansas at Floor It's "shop". We just spent part of the past two days adding all kinds of gadgets. Heres a quick rundown :

First was installing the PE COMP and then went to the strip Friday night. Also that night put on a RE 0880 K&N and a heat shield. Also slapped in the Banks High Ram intake since we were there. The next day, changed the rear and front diff fluid to Amsoil 75w-90 Series 2000 and added the Mag-Hytec cover to the rear. Added the PS High Ilder to the truck (Floor It wants one now). Added the Turbo Diesel Lifesaver, and I love it already. Did some adjusting and cleaning up my gauge pod (it had came loose) and modified the filter setup slightly. So now I just gotta rememeber whats all "on" the truck now :D

It was a fun filled two days and its time to catch some sleep now. It was raining so I haven't "road tested" after tonights install session, but I verified the PE COMP works on the strip Friday night :D Floor It says it works real good on the highway at 75mph and plus ... ... now hes itching to get his "stuff" on his truck. And throughout all this we would drift on to the subject of his "toys", lets jsut say he has a love affair for Camaros. He has 3 68's and 1 82... . and then theres the Camper (thats huge) and the dirt bikes, and then every known tool to man you would need in the shop. Needless to say I wanna move into the shop :D

Goodnight for now, I'll try to have some more thoughts and reflections after my drive home tommorrow.

You didnt mention bombing the transmission, with the comp, you will toast it soon on anything higher than level 1. I drove with mine for 1 week with stock transmission,i found it almost impossible to resist using levels 3,4,and 5,my transmission goodies are in now,and it really pulls hard, especially with the stage 3 injectors.

HOTROD?

Eric, it was great hanging out with you and John and Adam on Friday night. As time goes on I am learning more and more about the Cummins engine and I am in love. I wanna Cummins BAD!! But I have 2 other trucks to pay for so the Cummins have to wait a few years. I am glad you enjoyed Drag Racing too I told you its a blast. Man I wish I didnt work on Saturdays I woulda been out at the shop BOMBing too just to learn more.

I mentioned it in my "dragstrip" post, but items that were on the truck before I got here. I had DDIII's, Piers HX35 12cm² housing, ATS manifold, DTT 91% TC and VB, and I had an EZ plugged into help with the turbo lag created by the convertor. Thats all I can think of right this minute, I gotta get ready to head back home. Also still on the break in oil in the transmission, gotta go home, change the fluid and change out the pan to my Mag-Hytec Double Deep pan :D Then I gotta rumage through my boxes and see what else I have left to put on. The only thing we didn't put on that I brought with me was my modified banjo bolts. I am gonna pick up a new lift pump just for grins and I'll do the banjo bolts at that time. Actually I had just a shift kit for over a year in use with my orginal "Hot" PowerEdge and it held pretty good. Also ran with my DDIII's and and the shift kit and it ran pretty darn good, the DTT convertor feels a bit better then stock but it is a different driving experience. I have to do some more experimenting to see if my PE COMP got rid of my turbo lag created by using the DDIII's and the DTT convertor.

Glad I had a chance to come down. Granted we were late Firday night and only made one run, I shall return :D That was just a "preview" of what she'll do. Maybe if I can't beat ya onjust #2 I'll have to add propane ;) Hehe In a odd sense I am happy it rained yesterday, gave us a chance to BS and install everything on the truck I brought, we were up until about 3am last night BS and installing. If its not raining, I'll be back on WED!

If you add propane dont worry bout beating me Worry about beating Cobra's and other Mustangs and Camaro's my truck is ony 328HP on NO. 2. Its all in funwait until the week after next I'll have definate forward motion with the new trans.

Guess its a good thing I don't have an ETH then huh ? :D Hehe remeber I am one of the "auto enhanced" fellas... ... ... It will prolly be a while if and when I choose to add the gas, I gotta get used to this setup and driving style, going to be playing with the turbo for a bit I suppose.

Turbo lag with Piers turbo? 12 cm housing?

KatDiesel,

I am surprised you talked about turbo lag with Piers turbo and a 12cm housing. I was with the understanding that it spools up faster than the stock HX35 12cm housing. I have one setting in my garage that I'm going to install. I have a HX40 16cm housing on now and you talk about turbo lag! 1700 RPM before the HX40 spools up!

When does Piers turbo spool up on you truck? RPM's? I am setup almost exactly like you are, but I want more low-end power. I'm hoping Piers turbo will do it.

I just home from work and exhausted. Keep in mind I went from a HY35 9cm² housing to the Piers HX35 12cm² housing. The "lag" is not from the turbo, the turbo works great, the lag is a combination of my DTT convertor + DDIII's injectors. And its really not that bad, it jsut kinda hit me by surprise when I changed converters, I just gotta relearn how to drive, I would hate to even think of havin an HX40 on a auto truck :( Although I am tempted to try KwikKurts turbo to see how it performs, I am already looking for some more MPH in the 1/4 :D I don't know exactly when it spools up, I'll check, lately I been watching the EGT gauge, trying to see the variations I get, by the time I get done watching that I am usually upto 90mph or so LOL

turbo lag

kat , the dd3's should help withthe lag , the lag , as i understand it is from the TC . you'll get used to it after awhile , i notice it with the 93 , but it doesn't really bother me much , if you bring up the boost a bit at the line the lag is no where near as bad .
