Do you like it? Why?

Considering it with Atlantic Blue or Deep Moltan Red.

Edit: Corrected Lava to Red

I don't like the two tone. No good reason, it just doesn't look as "clean" looking to me. My last truck was Dark Garnet Red w.

Silver and I didn't really like it. New truck is all Patriot Blue. Depends what you like. One advantage of the two-tone is that if you get a bunch of chips on the rockers, you can easily just paint the lower portion.

I was going to ask you on one of the other threads what colors you were looking at.

FWIW

I listed the colors in order of my personal preference when I sent my dealer a-searching;

- 1) Graphite

- 2) White

- 3) Green Met.

- 4) Patriot Blue

- 5) Silver (would have placed higher, but my best bud has one!)

- 6) Black (looks great, but too hard to keep looking nice)

- 7) Red

- 8) Dark Garnet Red (tired of it, and heard it was being discontinued)

I don't think duallies come in Atlantic Blue, so I didn't include it.

What the heck is Deep Molten Lava? Must be new for '04.

Any of the dark colors show scratches in the clearcoat more than the light ones.

Your current truck is white, isn't it?

Cheers

Dave

ps. I think some of the colors look better w. the sport package.

Never mind, I looked at your ad. Your current truck is a beauty. If my '01. 5 was a 6 spd, I would have had trouble parting with it.

What's with the "... listens to classical music". !!!?! LOL

What the heck color is that

I don't care for red, however I have seen a couple trucks with red over silver, and it seems to be a rare combination. If I had to do it again that's one I'd seriously consider.

But I like my Pat. Blue/Silver Ram just fine :D

it's Deep Molten Red, not Deep Molten Lava - new for 04, and replaced Dark Garnet Red. DMR is a very dark red with the "pearl coat" glow.

I like 2-tone trucks, I just wish DC offered more colors than just silver. The best looking truck I ever had was my 1997 w/ the lighter Garnet Red as the main color w/ the Light Driftwood centerband. IMHO The Dark Molten Red is an ugly color and DC needs to add some new colors to the line-up. Perhaps a red and tan combo like Ford's Toreador Red/Arizona Biege (lower accent). It would also be nice if DC offered a true tan interior in addition to or instead of Taupe.

two tone

I like the two tone..... as mentioned it is only available in silver on the lower part and its great 'cause it doesn't show the dirt as fast as your dark blue would. Also, if you are going to get wheel flares, you can paint them silver too, I think it looks cool. :)

My new 04' has two tone paint ... . black over silver. This is the first truck that I've ever had two tone. Personally... . I don't think it's worth the extra money. The only reason I have it is due to the truck having all the other features I wanted, plus it was on the lot ready to drive home. This is one of those things that everyone has their own taste, likes, dislikes, etc... . If you like it... go for it and enjoy it. To each their own... .

The two-tone to me sets the truck away from the others. My father has a two-tone 3/4 ton same colors as mine and he has a nice pinstripe separating the two colors. Looks real sharp. The only disadvantage to me about the two-tone is having two different colors of touch up paint.

hey guys just act like you dont want the 2 tone and they will through it in for free. I almost got a darker grey truck with the lighter grey 2 tone and i said i wanted patriot blue. I said i will not get a truck from this dealer unless its patriot blue, Then they pulled this trick. . How about the 2 tone truck and we will not charge you the 2 tone cost, If i wasnt such a ****** about the color i would have gotten that. I love my patriot blue, scratched easy at first but i put clearcoats on it and its much better now.

PATRIOT BLUE #1

Two tone

I have Atlantic Blue with the silver and it just sets off the blue.

When I see just a plain Jane Atlantic blue truck, it seems, well, plain to me

But that is just my opinion

There is no accounting for taste..... but I like a single color. At least at this point in my life. I sure liked my '94 black with a driftwood center though.

Look guys and gals! Singel color black get better mileage AND is at least 5 mph faster. Also it adds 500 pounds to the towing capacity. Why choose anything else.

And although I like my Dark Garnet Red and my whatever-they-call-it Green with belly stripe.

I much prefer Black and Blue and some other colors. Problem is-- COLOR is the last thing on my lists of MUST-Haves when I buy a truck. I almost bought a green and rib-striped one a while back. UGGLEEE, but the truck was a real sweetie in every other category and the paint was slick (1996). The paint didn't keep me from buying it. I'm just saying that it's not a big priority for me--anymore.

new terms:

"belly stripe"--the more common gray rocker treatment.

"rib stripe" the early 2G contrasting stripe in the middle with other color top/bottom.
