I have an chance to purchace 600 gal of two year old fuel used for an emergency generator. The fuel has treated with Stabil and we live in a dry climate. Should I purchace? Thanks for you input.

no problem, just filter it prior to pumping into your tank. .
i've used 10 year old non treated fuel with no problems. .
i ran it trough a 5 micron filter and added bioside.

I had a farm tractor in my shop for repairs, would not run worth a darn. I changed fuel filters, flushed the injection pump, popped injectors. Still it would not run correctly. . I drained the fuel tank and filled with new fuel and it ran great. . The fuel I drained out would NOT light in my steam cleaner!! The stuff had pretty much lost its volatility. .

You could be buying a disaster or saving a few bucks. I would weigh the cost of replacing the entire fuel system on your truck with what you'll save if this turns out to be dirty or bad fuel. Is it off road fuel? Consider the penalty for using it in an on road vehicle.

Filter it and use it. Boats run 2 year old fuel all the time and it's never a problem other than some clogged filters.

Filter it as you pump it out and it will run fine. a 30 or so micron filter will be good enough but I'd use a standard 10 micron oil furnace filter and call it a day.

Good luck.

The price would have to be right, but I'd jump all over it with my 12 valve engine. :D

I've personally ran 5+ YO diesel w/o any drama.

Up until recently I ran some I payed . 69. 9 (off road)for. That was probably 10 yrs old.
