It was an ECM change according to the information that's been posted on here in the past. They programmed it to defuel some at the shifts points so the shifts didn't hammer the transmission.

So basically you can update your current transmission to the current torque rating by backing out of it when it shifts, ESPECIALLY when it is locking up the torque converter. As far as your line about not planning to bomb... we've all heard that before... . #ad

Yea, "don't intend to bomb" I said that too. Just unpacked a box from DD, DD module and Psychotty go in tomorrow. I made it all of three months before my truck lost it's cherry. Now it's on it's way to becoming a bombin' ho'. Life is good. #ad

The latest crop of Ram's with autos have the hp and torque raised to the same level as the 5 speed was in previous years. Does anyone know what if any tx mod's DC made that allows the increased torque in the auto's?? Don't intend to bomb but would like to upgrade 98. 5 to the new torque rating of the 2001 autos.
