if type 4 means atf+4 then it's sold in the mopar brand at wal mart, but they usually don't stock much. i've been buying federated brand atf+4 from a local auto parts house for less than $5/qt.
You can use any brand of fluid (as noted, check WalMart or your local parts stores) as long as it is labelled as being "ATF+4®".
Some dealers stock ATF+4® in bulk (55 gallon drums). Bulk Mopar ATF+4® fluid has part number 68055894AA and the list price is $4.85 per quart (only when sold in bulk, not as prepackaged quarts). So bring your own jug and see if your local dealer stocks / will sell you the bulk fluid.
I buy mine at the local NAPA store. The NAPA store brand is a $1.00 cheaper than the Royal Purple brand of ATF+4. I paid $5.99 each for the NAPA brand, same quality as Royal Purple just the NAPA brand.
I'am confused by the lack of description for transmission fluid Mopar ATF +4 indicated for the 68 RFE and ASRC specified for the AS69RC transmissions. Are they the same? I have the Aisin HD transmission but the trans dip stick is labeled Use Mopar AS68RC only. The dealer has not been able to pin it down any further so far. Any in specific information out there Will be appreciated.
