U-Connect - Interface

I have an 05 with the U-connect and 6 CD changer. . all works(radio) well but the voice connection and U-Connect... is there a turn on/off on the set up of the radio, or other interface with fuse or some other safety device... .



When you push either button, the voice command or U-connect nothing happens... Is there an inter face for a scan tool to test this and or repair this, or am I forced to take this back to the dealer... .



I assume this is a module that's added to the system in addition to the CD I've just not seen anything on this in my 05 manual.....



Any help would be very helpful. .

jim i don,t know if this will help or not/ i have 06 . i went to my vizoron dealer and they had to pair the phone to the u connect system before it would work /you have to have a blue tooth phone to operate i think. hope this helps. christensen

When I just push the buttons on the mirror nothing happens... on my other truck you always get a message center that opens...

Did your truck come with the factory u-connect or did you try and add the factory parts?

When you pushed the buttons years ago it talked back... but I"ve never used the feature... . now with a new law I tried to turn it on... and progam it like I've done to our other trucks and nothing... . does that help. .

Do a google search for "u-connect tsb 08-016-06". Tells you how to try and reset u-connect. Wait till you see the directions

Or pull the battery cables or IOD fuse for a for a few moments to reset the modules in the truck. Then see if it works.

The dealer is currently doing the software upgrades in the TSB's... . there are at least 3 that I found that apply... . thanks to kblranch... . sometimes you can't see the forest for the tree's... .

Hopefully, after the flash, the dealer does not come back and say the Uconnect module is bad. For the 05 on the PCI bus, they can range from $500 to $700 depending on the dealer. I added the factory Uconnect to my 05 Town and Country and my 06 Ram. Different systems in each. 06 Trucks went to the CAN bus and the UC modules is about $200 for that system.

The U-Connect module was bad... . $560 something after sales tax was added. .

I asked for the old module back... they said it was exchange... . do they repair and put these things back into stock...

Does your paper work show the part number for the module?

Bummer... I was afraid of that. Expensive little boxes. P/N should be 5064022AQ
