I am having some trouble confirming the right p/n for Spicer U-Joints for my 1993 W-250 (auto trans). Napa says they only carry Precision brand. Napa also says my truck need 6 U-Joints - I thought there was only 5.

If somebody can confirm these spicer p/n 's I would sure appreciate it!

5-160X (greasable)

5-801X (non-greasable)

Thanks!

Don't use NAPA's Precision u-joints, junk, poor fit, weak etc. Use only Spicer if you can find them. You have the correct part numbers for Spicer. I have the 5-160x. I have a one piece driveshaft so I only need 2. Just count yours to make sure.

Edit: I'm only talking about the rear u-joints. The front driveshaft and axle u-joints are smaller. I posted a thread requesting a Spicer part number for the front d-shaft joint, but got no answer.

When I'm in 2WD and shift into reverse I get a loud clunking noise. When I am in 4WD (high) and shift into reverse there is no clunking noise at all.

Anybody know if this means the bad u-joint(s) are in the front or the rear driveshaft?

Thanks!
