I am noticing a slight “tinny” clunk when shifting and when on & off the accelerator. I inspected the drive line and saw evidence of the middle U-joint just past the center carrier bearing is dry and has very slight play in it. Is this covered on the 3/36 warrantee or is considered a wear item? I have 1 year and 6,000 miles left on it. Thanx- frank

Keep us Advised

I'd like to know the outcome of what your dealership has to say about replacing your U-joints. Please let us know.

I will keep you posted- I have an appointment this Friday 17 Jan. Time for the next oil change. They do it for free as part of the lease/ purchase for the life of the truck (every 3,000 miles too!)

UPDATE: The dealer said prior to any diagnosis that U- joints are in fact covered by the 3/36. When they inspected my vehicle, they also determined that in addition to the U- joints, the mid carrier bearing had play in it. They are going to replace the entire rear drive shaft which is on order! Hope I don’t have to go through this BS in another 30K! Seems to me that these components should last longer than this. I am leasing the truck and was planning on purchasing it, but might just dump it depending on what goes on until then. I will be posting a thread later when timely asking for opinions as to my best options. -frank

WOW!! Let everyone know who your dealer is. Some of the guys from the metro Denver area might even drive up to get quality service and decent treatment!!

No need for any one in the DVR metro area to drive up to my neck of the woods--- I won't mention any names but it is located on "--BROADWAY__" ;) ;) (hint) in Littleton and is a 5 star dealership. p. s. They called to let me know that the part is in and I will have it intstalled next visit. :)
