How many miles are most of you getting out of your U joints? I'm still on my originals at 107,000 and feeling the need to replace them before they let loose.

I have 210K on my '95. All driveshaft U-joints are original. I have replaced the passenger side front axle U-joint. The other side is still ok.

U-joints

My driveshaft U-joints are also fine at 150,000 miles. I replaced my passenger side U-joint at 140,000 'cause it was shot and it made the truck steer like it had the front axle locked in 4WD. I did the other side just because it was so much fun to do the other one. John

as long as your joints are still tight you shoudn't need to change them. I have 232,000 miles on mine when I changed them the first time.

That's what I wanted to hear, didn't have any frame of reference on the truck, my Jeep goes through them a little more often. Thanks for the info.

Preventative maintenance!!

I had mine changed at 56,000 miles, I didn't get the old ones back but they still looked OK from the outside and were tight.

There what $20 each for spicers?

Depending on your driving and load habits, you make the call.

I drive like a maniac so I changed them.
