Does anyone here have any experience with Uberti firearms, I am considering a new lever action and looking hard at a Uberti model. Are they good rifles?

I think I recall reading some pretty positive reviews of Ubertis in Shooting Times - Mike Venturino articles. One never knows for sure tho' if you're getting the straight scoop if the mag carries ads for the products they review. That being said, I have read some ST reviews that didn't give rave reviews, so maybe they're balanced.

There must be somebody out here in TDRland with a Uberti hanging on the gun rack in the back of his truck, so you'll probably get some first hand reports eventually.

I bought a Uberti . 45 long colt lever rifle about 10 years ago. This was back when I was shooting a bunch of SASS events. Thousands of rounds through it, never a single problem. If I was buying another one, I wouldn't buy anything else.

I don't own one, but a bunch of the guys I shoot cowboy with love theirs. They seem to be fairly smooth and trouble free without and work. Jake

My buddy that I shoot SASS with has one in 45LC. I have shot it and it functioned great. He has about 1000 rounds through it with no problems.

Thats what I wanted to hear, guess I'm heading down to the gun store tomorrow. I'm getting it in 45LC. It's a very nice looking rifle. 1873 with very nice wood, and case harden frame. Thanks for the replies.

Normal maintenance, check the screws every now & then and you should be happy.

I dont own one, but I hear theyre good guns.
