4" Superlift - How much and How long to install?

I got the valve cover and bolts from my local cummins dealer, I used the engine serial number off of one of the vehicles at my job. The stock breather will not work, as soon as I work the details out for the breather and install it on my truck I'll put up more pics. The valve cover was $74. 00 and the bolts were $4 and change each. It was bare, unpainted aluminum when I got it. The body shop at my job painted it and I sanded off the letters. I also have part numbers,

It looks like you ought to be able to run a hose from the fitting at the back there. Am I wrong?

So what's the part number? I hope these work out 'cause I'll be running one of these by Bob Wagner for a little finish work

Yes a part number would be great! Looks like the mounting will do for a 3rd gen just fine. Lets see... Chrysler Orange or Cummins Blue????? oh yes and a matching powder coated air horn too! Oo.

This valve cover will fit all ISB inline 6 engines. I did a test fit and the breather hits the firewall, but that will be worked out this weekend. The part numbers are 3965133 for the cover and 3959400 for the bolts. Feel free to offer any ideas for the breather. Has anyone seen the breather idea that was in the latest issue of TDR? I will post pics as soon as I figure it out.

I don't think that's accurate. It will not fit 98 1/2 to 02 24 valve ISB's. The bolt pattern on those trucks is a single center row. This is a dual row pattern.

The other issue is that I don't recall my 04 having centered bolt holes. The pattern is around the outside of the cover... .

What am I missing in this???

I think that started with the 600s curatchko but I'm not sure. . .

My guess is that there is an internal oil baffle in your new cover in the back so only fumes and no oil blows out.

In keeping with that same area maybe you could block off that elbow with a plate and relocate it to the top.

Also maybe the factory breather could be relocated back there where it would be hidden. A color matching cover plate might not look bad.

Sorry guys, I should have said that it will fit all ISB inline 6 common rail engines. I think I got the breather worked out, I used a breather elbow and grommet from a cummins L10 valve cover and drilled a 1 inch hole in the top of the ISB valve cover where the internal baffle is, it looks pretty clean. I'll post a pic when I get my camera back, loaned it to my neighbor for they're kids birthday party. I'll get back soon.

Thanks jstabilka, I was figuring it would fit all common-rail engines.

Now, we are waiting ever soooooooooo patiiienttly for a part number (hint hint hint hint hint) :p

He already posted the part numbers. I can't wait to see what the finished product looks like!

The part numbers that I posted were for the ISB parts. The L10 stuff I got from my job. I'll be putting it on in the morning and

I'll have more pics.

Why would it? It is a non-fuctional part other than keeping the top side oil from running down the block. They can't claim it isn't a Cummins part either.

Most likely, the mechanic would just say he had never seen one of those before and ask if that was an option when you ordered the truck. To which you must say, "yes" :D :D :D :D
