Damn, didn't think it was possible, but the '93 let me down earlier this morning!! Darn steering gear box bracket broke on me. Thankfully I was just backing into the driveway. Searched here for what IIRC was a beefier bracket that was available not too long ago, or are we stuck with the stocker. What was the deal on these again?? Looks like someone was in there before and welded the thing but didn't do a good job at it#@$%!, broke in 2 places!!

I have a buddy that just put one on a W250, new from someone in the aftermarket. I'll see if he has the p/n...

Do you think there is a difference from a gasser to diesel for this bracket?

If'n I had a "real truck" of the W kind I would hunt down a 72-77 cast steer box bracket and the partses to go with it...

Reread. . "real truck" meaning DIESEL!!:) Just got back from the dealer, bracket will be here Tuesday:{ And I just washed her up real good last night because I wanted to drive it this weekend! If someone posts up on a HD part I'll probably get that too... for the next time.

I understood completely and agree...

Here's a link that has a photo of the Powerwagon era bracket,

In need of a Power Steering Box Bracket

If you search "steering box bracket" here, you'll find a reply mysteryman has on the subject to include a list of parts to use with the above bracket.

Just want to make sure I'm correct before ordering one of these, this is to reinforce the frame for a W250/350 with the steering box in the stock location, I had my steering box mount break on me 2 years ago while Christmas shopping and replaced it with a stock one. Just want to make sure if I order this brace it will bolt right on, do I need different (longer) bolts or are the stock one's long enough?

Thanks in advance,

steering bracket , box

Yes for a 4 wd it is a better plan to use the 72 to 77 setup . you need to get the pitman arm, drag link, and steering gear to do the change... the steering gear box looks the same as what is already in the diesel trucks but it has a LEFT HAND worm screw... I also used to make adjustable drag lings for the early trucks in my machine shop. . I could make some more of them if anyone wants them.

the bracket I think everyone is talking about is NS1 (discontinued) at chrysler.
I just clicked on the link and it appears that they are remaking them...

I think I wrote about this in the past . please refer to my other posts for more details . Or pm me

Picked up the mount today, and the brace thingy should be here tomorrow... :) Mysteryman, I might consider doing it your way in the near future, see how this brace works out.

It does need longer bolts.

Did you guys have to drill for the extra holes that do not line up with the stock bracket... or do you just use the ones that do? just got the brace at 8PM tonight and have 5" of snow in the driveway, can't get under truck to see if those other holes line up with something or not.
