2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Uhh!? I broke my windshield by getting it wet?

Windshields are strange creatures...........

I had several rock chips I was about to have fixed to try and save my glass for a while longer. Most of them had been there for months and thousands of miles. Anyway, I'm on my way to work one morning and catch another chip, within' 10 miles it had run over halfway across the windshield. Go figure.

If you get a small chip in the windshield most glass companies can repair it depending on its size. Most, but not all, insurance will waive the deductible and pay for the repair,usually about $50 - $75. If the repair fails then the windshield will be replaced subject to deductible. You have then shown your insurance company you are trying to control costs (makes you look good) and most repairs are not noticible.

Unfortunately, I have 5 of 7 cars on my insurance policy which also includes a camper, the house, and an unbrella policy.

A policy for your umbrella too?? Only in California. Next insurance companies will be offering Governor insurance with a HIGH deductible.

Yeah, we get some pretty high winds around here from all the lawers that shred those umbrella's. I pass on the earthquake insurance, but could go for some governor insurance.

Happened to me last Xmas headed to Texas from Utah to see the family..... I left Ogden area at about 35-40 degrees and as soon as i went up the first pass the temp sunk to way below zero and mine cracked all the way across the middle of the windshield about eye level... ... It sucked drivin 1200 miles lookin through the crack... ... and i already knew what i was gettin for xmas... . so needless to say i now have a new windshiel and maybe this year ill get somethin better for xmas... .
