Brian, I have the Autometer Ultralite 2 5/8" mechanical FP gauge mounted on my hood. Works great, though I do have a small fogging problem after heavy rains. That clears up as soon as the sun hits the face of the gauge. Task is right, if you plan on placing the gauge inside the cab, the isolater is recommended. Many are running without an isolater with a mech. FP gauge in the truck, it's your choice. You will need a length of braided line as well. That comes with the NPT fittings to adapt to the gauge. Your truck has Schrader valves, one at the inlet to the fuel filter and another at the inlet to the injection pump (VP44). It's easy to locate these as they have a plastic cap on the fitting.
You now have several choices for a source, pre or post filter. If you want to go pre-filter (not recommended as the values between pre and post vary quite a bit while at WOT) you will need a -4AN female to female coupler and a pressure port adapter, both are available from either Jegs or Summit Racing online. For pre readings, you remove the Schrader valve and plug your -4AN/ pressure port set up to the test port.
For post, you have two more choices... the easiest is to purchase a tapped banjo bolt from genos
http://216.167.98.200/CoastalData/showdetl.cfm?&DID=30&Product_ID=593&CATID=1 and place that tapped banjo bolt at the bottom (outlet) of the fuel filter housing. This will allow you to see FP post filter and know exactly what the VP44 is seeing. You simply plug your braided line coming from the gauge into the female NPT port on the banjo.
The other option is to loose the banjos at the inlet to the VP44 and the outlet of the fuel filter and replace same with Weber fittings, braided line and a pressure port adapter at the bottom of the fuel filter. This is a good choice if you plan on fueling enhancements in the future as it allows for a better flow of fuel at WOT. Probably not needed if you remain stock. Send me a PM if you have any questions.
