Unable to get a 3d map view with an 8.4an navigation system

On a new 2016 2500 with an 8.4AN Nav/Radio I am unable to have it display a 3D map view.
When I switch from the 2D map view to the 3D map view, there is no change...both are 2D views.
It will display a 3D view on the 250 feet and closer scale, but not farther out than the 250 feet scale.
The service tech guy at the dealer said that the unit was operating normally, but the service attendant stated that off the record, some 8.4AN units display the 3D and others do not...it's a luck of the draw if the one installed in your vehicle has 3D or not.
That sounded kind of speculative, but the same comment was also stated by the person I talked to when I called Chrysler Customer Service.
I have heard that there are even minor changes between 2015 and 2016 8.4AN systems, so I am curious if there is anybody that has a 2016 8.4AN system that is able to get a 3D map view that is a different view than the 2D map view?
I've had a 3D view on prior RAMs (never had an 8.4AN before), so I know what I should be seeing, but I am not getting a 3D view.
Anybody else having the same problem???

I don't use it often because I find Google Maps far superior. But I will check mine out and let you know.

Google "3d map view 8.4 an" and it will show a couple of other chrysler product forums that have some info.
