A guy pulled up next to me at a stop light in town yesterday and wanted to drag race. He was in a 24V Cummins, had gauges, and when he took off ( I refused to race him) there was just an unbelievable amount of smoke coming from his exhaust. I assume he had bigger injectors, though my friend thought he just had it "turned up" all the way. I am wondering what you guys think was the cause for all the smoke so that I can stay away from that mod. By the way, this guy was trying to stare me down. I don't know about you all, but I do my best to respect fellow Cummins owners rather than stare them down. His attitude was what made me not want to race. He seemed to me to be some prick who wanted to feel big.

MY Guess

Woo Dude! :)

Take it easy on the guy. He probably just wanted to play. After all the money he spent on the big injectors and the big turbo and the exhaust and etc etc he was out looking for a furd to stomp:p and ran up on you:cool:  My guess is if you had given him a run then pulled over he would have shown you his Conp box or dumb pump and the AFE or BHAF and offered to buy you a beer:rolleyes: Don't be so hard on us smokers:confused: we are good guys too. We just like to blow it out our A$$ from time to time. :) :) :D Oo.

OH!

Well XCQUUEZZ my SOOT!!!! ;) I stand corrected!

 :D Does that mean I now have to introduce myself at the TDR meeting as " Hi my name is Jim and I'm a Sooty!"? :{ :D

Wonder what the Soccer Mom behind him with the van full of kids thought about all the smoke/smell/noise??! Wonder why we have so much repressive legislation/regulation!

I prefer to call it organic carbon. All organic compounds, including humans, are made of it.

Who knows, it may just have been the "goo" we all came from!!!!

Tim,

Were you downtown at the Fort or in Denver. I notice some of the non-TDR Cummins folks in Golden are the same way. I gave one guy the "thumbs up" who was driving a new 03 sport deckout with all the new toys. And the guy flips me off, then proceeds to start yelling at me at the light about how 2nd gens are supplus for F__D (F___ed over rebuild Dodge). Stuck the truck in 3rd dumped the clutch and SMOKED 'EM OUT. You couldn't see the intersection from any mirror in the truck. And the 03 he was off the pace by 3 truck lengths (I think I scared him when I left the light). Oo.

Diamonds in the rough

Ya know Diamonds are made from carbon. So maybe I should raise the compression on the Cummins a bit and I could spray Diamonds all over the lady in the van. :p ;) :D I think my truck and for that matter most other CTDs are the true gems of the truck world. :) Sounds like the A$$ Hole you meet should of bought a Durasmack or a Powerjoke. Some people don't deserve to drive CTDs.

JES and greyghost, glad to see that some of us agree on this matter. I'll keep on giving a "thumbs up" to CTD owners, even if they don't deserve to be driving one.

Why u guys have me completely baffled, I thought that big Smokey truck I drove was the Mercedes of the 4X4. What am I gunna tell my wife that she ant sitting in no Mercedes? I’d rather tap dance with a rattle snake then mess with her. It must have been those bilsteins. OF

smokin'

Reminds me of old days, when jets and diesels converted fuel into smoke and noise!!! Hope the guy at least clogged the air filter of the vehicles behind them!
