Uncles 2003 -2500 stock trans at 228k!

I just moved my uncle up and had to finally put a transmission in it after 228k on the clock. Considering his poor maint. habits, I was most impressed a 47re could last that long.

Now just need to figure out the bad loping idle, some sort of leak on the front passenger side and a vacuum leak, it might go for another 230k. That and an intense amount of TLC!

The truck is a California SO 2wd. Coming up from northern cal he went from Newark to Vancouver WA on a single tank with about 1000 pounds in the bed. May not have the power my 05 does but sure does do well on millage!

One of my customers has an 07 megacab dually thats tows frequently enough to have worn out the stock receiver hitch. He has 230k+ on the original trans with only minor repairs such as a front seal, gov psi solenoid and transducer, and a front band. Service intervals have been regular but not frequent. I guess there is something to be said for stock power and good driving habits.
