Went on the search for the elusive squeak. It came up the steering column base plate hub, shift linkage bushing, steering shaft rag joint, a-pillar-dash rub. I cant get a squeak out of any of them. They were mostly old posts and was wondering if there are any new suggestions out there . I just did another post because I discovered that there was fluid dripping down the brake rod plunger. Now I am looking for a fix for that

Thanks RJ

I dunno about the fluid deal, but I remember the "dash squeak" could also be that black trim piece on the bottom of the windshield (outside) rubbing against the glass.

HTH.

The squeak was gone today after I put oil on the rag joint

and I put a spot of black silicon under the cowl plastic piece in the corners. Hopefully it will stay gone. I have a borgenson shaft I just need to put it on. The last intermediate shaft dodge put on

lasted a little over a year.

RJ2, I love this one, honestly. I did the same thing you did on trying to get rid of it. The loosening of the steering plate screws, both at the firewall and the dash worked for me. It turned out that I had more than one sqk at one time. All you can do is try to isolate the noise (sometimes imposible as it travels) and tighten, loosen, oil, remove oil, etc. Don't get dejected, just keep plugging away. Vaughn Mckinzie also worked months at this and I think he finally got it licked. His as I remember was the plastic that fit over the vent and windshield washers. If you have trouble hearing the noise to locate, buy one of the stethscopes looking things at the local auto parts store. They are cheap and will amplify the noise to help find source. Good luck and post your results as your not the only one.
