Under-hood mat???

Hey,



I've seen this having been discussed, but I saw something that confused me a couple days ago.



My 2004 doesn't have the under-hood mat. I looked it up on here and it looked like they stopped installing it in the newer trucks. I was at the dealer a couple days ago looking at a 2005 and it had one. I made the comment that the 2004 didn't have the under-hood mat.



I felt really stupid when he popped the hood on the 2004 next to it and it had one.



So, seeing this (I checked the year on the truck three times), was the under-hood mat an option? Did they re-introduce it in the 2004. 5? Is the purpose of it to keep the paint on the hood cool, or to keep the truck quiet?

My 04. 5 has one. Dave, you and I are on the same sights at the same time (DTR and here).

They brought them back with the Cummins 600..... the 2003's didn't have them either you can add them like I did check out my Gallery about half way down click on photo for part numbers
