update

Just to give you guys an update.

I have contacted the supplier and they are checking into all of the

details of whether or not DC still owns the tool, if it has interchangeable inserts to eliminate the "Magnum" name like on mine, how much they would cost etc, etc.

Geno's has contacted me about sourcing this to them if they are available. The largest road block I have found is that they supplier says that DC is thinking about reintroducing these for like maybe the 2005 model year. This means that we could not use this tool and that we would have to buy them from the dealer at full price. I have bought these before for full size trucks at a cost of $125-175. I was hoping we could have them sourced thru Geno's in the price range of $50-100.

I will keep you posted.

Likewise, Eric.

Gee, nothing is easy. Somehow I don't expect DC will retrofit our trucks out of kindness... . in 2005!:(

If anything changes, we appreciate the heads up!

Nick,

You would think a guy who does automotive acoust testing

for a living would have taken some sound level measurements

to see if it actually helps "pass by" noise or "passenger compartment" sound level measured at drivers inner ear, wouldn't you. ? Maybe that is why they eliminated to begin with, but actually I think it was just cost reduction.

It is kind of like the mechanic who never works on his own cars or the carpenter who never finishes the trim in his own kitchen etc.

Sure makes the "engine compartment" look alot more complete though. Now all we need is the under hood light back.
