i have been looking at the different posts about the pump wire piercing and how it will void the warranty. if you ever have to send the truck into the dealer and they see it they could turn down the repairs. i only have 63. 000 miles on my 01 and want to do some more mods. i am concerned about voiding any warranty situation that i might have in the next 40k miles. i have been looking at the superchips and hypertech programers because they do not disturb any wiring. are these the best option for my situation? ofcourse i am trying to get a little more smoke along the way to. i figure to have the truck for a long time and probably will drive it untill at least 200k. after i pass the 100k mark maybe i could step it up and go with some injectors and stack another programer with the hyper. or the superchip. are these good ideas or are there more options that i am not catching? thanks for any info !!!! THIS SITE ROCKS!!!! :-laf

If you play you pay... ...

At 63k anything that could of, would of; if you have watched your FP the the weak link for the engine (VP44) should be OK. Bombs away!

If your concerns are warranty, throw some injectors in and don't mess with your waste gate. These trucks are just too much fun to leave alone!

Look into the Blue Chip Pump cover. You can still use an Edge Comp where you "pierce" the wire... but you don't actually pierce anything. Keeping in mind though that should you need to bring it in, you need to remove your "toys"

"if your gona play you gota pay"

if you bomb it and you break it you should be willing to pay for it.
sorry but if you pass the repair to dc then you pass the cost to everyone who buys a new truck and that sucks!

If U like ur warrenty I would not peirce the pump wire. I have a friend with only 80,000 miles on it and had a blue chip box on it and the lift pump and went south causing the injection pump to go with it, they put a lift pump on it first but it still wouldent start so they took the injection pump off and seen the wire has been peirced so they would not cover it, so $1500 later it was running. And most 24 valves have 100% lift pump failure and 90% injection pump failure so I would get ur lift pump checked and be putting a fuel pressure gage to monater these things. I put a set of injectors a boost fooler and a boost elbow on my 01 and it is night and day from stock and I still can get the expinsife stuff replaced under warrenty, unless the injectors cause something. But these guys are right If u want to play u gotta pay and have deeeeeeeepppppp pockets cause the bombing flue will get u and it wont go away . Justin
