underhood light

My 06 didnt come with the underhood light but I found an electrical connector on the passenger side and was wondering if this is the one for the light. Is has a blk/blue stripe and a tan/red stripe wires going into it. I would like to add a light or 2 under the hood and was wondering if there was a plug there for them or if I have to wire it myself?

Some years in the past D/C has deleted the under hood lights but left the wiring. Most likely the 06 is the same way. Most likely all you need to do is buy a light for an 05 and plug it in.

i had one on my 04 [part of the light group package]... the bulb burnt out some time ago and i have never bothered replacing it. . i've got several flashlights in the cab so one of them can work for me

On the '06 the underhood light is part of the light group. Mine has it. I will check the wire colors and post them.

'06 manual shows GY/RD wire from integrated module to underhood lamp. The

BK/LB is the ground wire. Not sure about the TN/RD wire.

I wouldn't waste my time. They burn out as fast as you replace the bulb.
