Anyone else had underhood paint wear-thru? Just noticed mine on the seal near the windshield where the gasket contacts the underside of the hood. Wonder if this is unique to the Cummins trucks due to vibration, or if Dodge has it in general. If so, seems like this would be covered by warranty, and if so, is it worth it? Would they try to re-paint it or just replace the entire hood assembly? I don't think I'd want a re-paint job.

Truck has 33,000 miles now.

Thanks

Paint..

ain't concrete! With the seal constantly rubbing against the paint, the paint's gonna go away. It poses no performance nor cosmetic threat, so not to worry. Admire the shine!

We had a guy come in who complained about road rash on his fender's wheel wells. Hey, stones are harder than paint! The laws of physics have not yet been defeated. Enjoy your truck!
