Well, after installing the II stage 2 cp3, I expected more smoke with the new found power, and I also suspected it would pull my little fass 95 down to nothing as far as pressure goes.

Well, before the new cp3 I used to turn the TST to 4/3 and watch the smoke roll out. After the pump, I can turn the TST to 6/3 and she puffs out a little smoke for an instant, then nothing but clean exhaust. Any more than level 6 results in lots of smoke and a reduction in power. My fass used to pull down to 10 before the pump, but now it drops to 10 for a second and then pops back up to 12 or so

I put the dual line on tonite and now I can turn the TST up to 7/3 with a small puff of smoke followed by clear exhaust. :D

At the reccomendation of others on this site, my next step will be a better lift pump, and the MP8, BDDL, or Smarty.

yeh, sure... . Must be a fluke that everyone of the manufacturers of the modded pumps say to do it. Where as it is true that for a daily driver 12 psi is not a problem and it will not harm the CP3, but to get the most out of the pump you need to feed it properly. And I can't think of any reason why someone would spend the coin to buy a stage 2 pump if they had no intentions of bombing for more power. So in other words, I would raise the pressure.

Yep, that what the aftermarket companies SAY. Yes you need to feed it properly with modest pressure and volume. NOT pressure only.

TWest,

Aren't you the one selling the modified rails? If so, what a co-wink-a-dink that you mentioned that. LMAO

JLibert,

Add more pressure like lmills said. I think he would know... He has umm 700+hp ;)

Like mentioned by those above 40+ psi fuel inlet pressure and stack an mp-8 with that... the change in driveability will put a smile on your face. What program on the tst do you run?

Richard

I've tried raising pressure to my II Stage 2 CP3 and nothing happened. We did before and after dyno runs. There was absolutly no gain. My AirDog stayed at 18-19psi on the first run. Then we pinched off the return line and it raised the pressure well past my 35psi guage. Flat out pegged it. We dynoed again and nothing, no gain in power what so ever. You don't need to raise pressure, you need a pump that can give you what you need and maintain it.

Luken,I am not a HP junkie, and I respect Imills achievements just as well as yours. No disrespect to anyone it was only a comment and observation.

I didn't take it that way. :D No problem. I am just sharing what I have seen first hand. :D

I have every intention of buying a new lift pump, that's all part of the plan. I run the standard program on 7/3, no added pressure. Adjustable timing on auto at 12*

any before and after dyno resuls with a pump similar to mine vs. something larger that you've seen? I can't really understand why my pump isn't getting pulled down to a lower # than my stock cp3 could pull it down to. Doesn't make any sense to me.
