When I had the bumper off I found an electrical connector with about 6 wires going to it under the right (Passenger) side headlight. Followed the wires and they join up with the wire loom for the head light. Any idea what that was for?

Perhaps the truck has been towed, and the wiring is to operate the various brake and turn signals - or possibly the truck was used for snow plowing, and the wiring is for various lighting on the plow?

I am the original owner (had 6 miles on it when I picked it up) and none of that has been done. It is factory wireing, no doubt about that.

My truck is wired for factory fog lights even though I dont have them. Its cheaper to have one wire loom than making seperate ones for different options. Could that be it. Look on the other side for a similar connector. Of course this only works if you do not have factory fog lights, LOL As I recall the connectors were triangle weather pack type.

Its not the fogs. I have the fog lights and you can see the harness for them in the picture I posted laying on the ground.

Don't have my truck here it's at the shop but I suspect it might be for the daytime running light module. I know that Ford bolts theirs to the rad support.

Do you have the temp in the overhead console? Although that seems like a lot of wires for 1 temp sensor.

The temp sensor is centered on the cross member above the intercooler. Best I have been able to tell it would have been for the Daytime Running Lights Module.

Many vehicles come prewired for emergency vehicle use, like law enforcement, fire inspector, forestry, road ranger. I don't know for sure, but if so, it would be nice to utilze the existing harness for accessories. Please keep us updated on your findings.

Not that

Not for emergency vehicle use... Dodge never put the "severe duty" or "ambulance prep" packages in their vehicles until the last couple of years. Thats why you rarely see any of the ambulances with truck chassis' (f-350's or c-3500's style) from dodge. They didnt offer the "ambulance prep" package that most ambulance mfg's require and I believe the national ambulance standard requires as well.

I always thought the black piece on the end was a sensor for the airbags. Never thought to confirm it though.
