250-300 cu. in. Turbo Diesel?

New Honda Civic Automatic Trans. Problems???

Unimogs, wish I could afford one. Yes, geared for total utility, and arguably more capable than a Hum-vee. I like Unimogs a lot!

I just want a set of those portal axles under my truck! The motors are solid turbo diesels, just in the 3. 0L range or so, too slow for my taste. I just want independent suspension ground clearance with solid axle strength. Also, Pinzgauers are similar also, just Swedish I think...

I wish I had the time/money for one. An Unimog is the only vehicle for which I'd sell my '79 CJ-7. Not that my Jeep is all that great it's just that I've had it for 20 years.

That Doka has been on Ebay for a while now.

Modern Mogs are 280hp and 800lbft of torque. No slouch with 8 to 24 speeds and unbelievably low gearing. 33,000GVW and tows 45,000lbs.

Ive seen that particular one for sale a couple times already. Not sure if it sold or not, maybe just re-listing?

I thought I wanted a Mog, but finding one in decent shape for a decent price the way I wanted it was proving impossible. I ended up buying a new Kubota.

Unimog stuff

The latest 'Mogs are sold/serviced by Freightliner dealers - they start out at about $125K, last time I checked.

Even bigger and more insane are the Tatra trucks, made in the Chech Republic. They come in 4x4, 6x6, 8x8... massive rigs that I believe are now importable (new) into the U. S. We almost bought one that had been captured in Desert Storm volume 1. 8x8, air-cooled V-12 diesel, crewcab, payload of about 50,000 pounds! Just something to run to the store (or copper mine) with... :D

I am crazy for a unimog, but alas I don't have the $$ or time. They are fantastic off road. There are many many different types. Some of the newer ones (early 80's) come with fast axles and can do 65 on the highway.

look here for all kinds of links Rocky Mountain Moggers - Unimog Links

I want a 1300 with fast axles... .
