I posted this a few minutes ago, over at Ford-Diesel.com:
Heard on radio today that the United States Tennis Association is no longer going to play the nationl anthem at its events. Opting for America the Beautiful instead.
The P. C. crowd has apparently dictated that playing the S-S B is too much like "rooting for the home team" and makes the foreign players feel "alienated"
Now, I may be looking at this situation through red-white-n-blue goggles, but, I think that the foreign players may actually feel disappointed now.
Here's why I'm thinking this:
Picture it. There's 5Billion pairs of eyes that watch this country.
There's lots of those people who would like to come here and be a part of the American Dream.
Some of them are tennis players.
Intuitively, I suspect that many of them actually look forward to hearing it. How many other countries' national anthems were written by a P. O. W. on an enemy navy's warship, while a battle was in progress?
How many of our own citizenry even know that FSKey did write those words under that very circumstance?
Somehow, I suspect that the Liberals have reduced the number of American Children hearing that historic account in the public schools to "zero". If not yet, I suspect it must be one of their perverse goals.
The visiting athletes can see the greatness of this nation while they're here.
In some cases, the country to which they return is run by bureautrash that incessantly bash the U. S.
By no longer playing OUR OWN national anthem, we are displaying some kind of sick, undeserved national inferiority complex.
To those of you bringing this type of change, let me state this.
I love my country. I hate what you worthless bas*ards are doing to it. If you hate this place so badly, leave.
In the 1960's you were told: "America: Love it or Leave It" to which many of you and your untraceable, unmarried parents answered "America: Change it or Lose It" We took that to mean that you loved the country, too, and saw problems and might contribute to a repair. Guess what. America wasn't broken. You and your ilk went "establishment" and ran for office. Then you enacted the "repairs" that you thought America needed. Now, America HAS changed. America is being lost from the inside out. As it turns out, the true result has been "America: Changing it and Losing It".
I, and many others, are tired of you wanting to Europeanize this nation. If the European countries are such great places, go. Your ancestors, and many of mine, came from Europe, many at the edge of poverty, to allow YOU and ME the advantages which we have now. For many of them, their lives, as individuals, didn't improve much. Their children had it a little better. Several generations of improvement down the line, you came along, and want to turn this place into the very same kind of inexcusable $hithole from which our ancestors escaped.
YOU DON'T HAVE THAT RIGHT, YOU SELF-CENTERED SOCIALISTIC PIECE OF I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER! There are many people on the face of this planet who would love nothing more than to trade places with you. Why don't you contact them, and arrange the exchange. Don't even bother selling your house. Just trade'em even. That way we don't have to wait for all the real estate paperwork to be finalized. The newcomer will surely treasure the Constitution more than you, and will be a better neighbor for me.
