can not locate grease fitting , front universal joint.

Under the hood sticker indicate that you must grease every 5000 miles.

Its there, I was on my back with a flash light moving the truck a couple inches at a time until I found it. There is a tread on here with good pics that with help. Someone suggested to put tape around the joint after greesing for a few miles so the greese does not spray around under the truck. Great idea.

I Looked again then took my truck to the dealer and the dealer could not locate. This is not my first Ram 4x4. I owned a 2004, and 2006 both had pin fitting on the front 4x4 universal is it possible that it is not on 2011?

My 2011 was it. Crawl under the truck with head facing the front. Using a flashlight look at the front section of the CV at about the 7 to 8 o'clock position. If you do not see it move the truck an inch at a time. Hope this helps.

I found it much easier and quicker to use a floor jack to lift a front tire slightly off the ground and rotate the tire/shaft to find the fitting.

Found the fitting , thank you Schumacher and Patty now I need to purchase the proper tool. My pin grease gun fitting is to large.

To stir this pot one more time, I cannot find the fitting on my 2010. I have the needle that I used on a Jeep Cherokee 20 years ago. I was introduced to lubrication of farm machinery a the age of twelve, 59 years ago. I have seen the pictures of this fitting but after jacking up one front tire and watching while I rotated the shaft several times I cannot, for the life of me, find the little puppy. I am convinced that some trucks got out without it.

Curious... does your truck have a sticker under the hood indicating that this is required service on your truck?

Oh yes, I found it. For what good it did me. With the frame cross member in the way I could not hold the needle in place, hold a flashlight to ensure the needle was in place and operate the grease gun. I got plenty of grease on it but I'm sure I got none in it.

I noticed a hole in the frame cross member that almost lined up but it was offset far enough that I could not get the needle on straight enough.

Does any one have some wisdom to share on this?
