Unknown codes Causing Limp mode On the Road need Help Quick

I'm getting codes p2121 p2122 and P0314 I can't find these codes listed anywhere I'm on the road between Phoenix and LA Pulling a 40 foot gooseneck . the only mods are 5" turbo Back exhaust, boost fooler, and a Bully dog Triple dog downloader set on tow/econmy

p2121 and p2122 are a throttle position sensor faults



p0314 unspecific cylinder misfire



i'll keep looking into it to see if i can find more are you sure its p0314 verses p0341?? seems like p0341 is a common one for folks with boxes and what not.



they may just reset and go away if you have something to clear them with

Codes clear with bullydog but they come right back removed programmer

is it in limp mode?



all i have to research this is the internet, i'm not seeing anything to give more info on the DTCs.



check the connector(s) for the throttle position sensor..... maybe its a little dirty or something.

The engine controller is seeing a problem with the APP signal. APP1 is 0-5v, and APP 2 is 0-2. 5v. The 2122 is actually the fault, and you are to diagnose it first. The APP is either open, shorted to ground, or shorted to signal. If the fault is active you are in limp home mode. Try cycling the key as it will make the test at every key on. Also try giving a gentle tug on the wiring to the APP. On your truck it might be under the battery or on the front left of the engine if it is a newer truck. If it sees five good trips it will reset the light. If yours needs an APP and it is the one under the battery they have been on back order for some time.

Also can't find P0314 on an 04 diesel

Accelerator pedal position sensor or throttle position sensor. Black seven way connector with six wires in it all in a row.

i don't know how similar our trucks are but there is what looks like a throttle position sensor at the very top of my go pedal under the dash with a connector that would be easy to kick if you were to stretch out your leg just right..... like you might after driving long hours... . the connector could be worth a look see if yours is set up the same.



i thought that was the thottle sensor but i'm still learning this truck

They did move it under the dash attached to the pedal but I want to say that was 05 and newer. Easy enough to look and see. If it's not there it is located ans mentioned above.

doesn't poor/dirty battery and chassis ground connections cause low voltage faults like this?



not trying to send you on a wild goose chase, just racking the brains a bit.

Okay I'll check I do stretch my feet out under the dash I'm 6'1" with size 13. 5 feet so... .....

okay the battery terminals are clean I'm anal about that stuff but any ideas are greatly appreciated

good luck brother. i can't think of anything else accept of course that you just simply need a new throttle position sensor.



an idea for getting home though.....



limiting the range of go pedal movement might keep it from messing up once you get it out of limp mode. i'm not even sure if that makes sense though now that i've typed it.

In the meantime, with the engine off, push pedal all the way a lot of times, to try and move that graphite coating around, and maybe give you a few more miles... .



I think there is another trick. Depending on year model, and reflashes done...

Try cranking with pedal held halfway in, It may reset the voltages to new numbers, and give you more than limp home mode.
