Competition Results from Reedsville?

How much power does a person lose when running a truck on the dyno without the TC locked up? I dynoed my 98 12v for the first time ever yesterday and did not have my mystery switch hooked up so I went in direct gear (od off) and unlocked. I did a blistering 324. 8. On the good side of things I belched out so much smoke into the shop they had to take a 15 minute break to let the smoke clear! :D Mustang dyno if that matters.

Swampy! Long time! How's by you?

*Theoretically*, the HP is the same on each end of the TC: torque is multiplied to keep HP in equal to HP out. In reality, considering your "DTT 91% auto". I should think you would be losing in the vicinity of 9%. :)

They seem to make the biggest numbers in overdrive and locked up. Mine and my dads made bigger numbers in OD. notice I said bigger numbers I don't think the gear gave the engine any more power :(

i would imagine that it has to do with the amount of load on the engine... you are placing more load on the engine in OD than in any other gear. under a full throttle go this is a little bit of a factor... i would think anyway.

it all makes sense in my head, just cant type it. i also dont have ANY dyno experience first hand. so, maybe im just a net dyno jocky... . :-laf
