2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Unusal Noise

After 3 to 4 miles have a rattle at 1600 RPM that is real loud but tapers off as engine heats up. Local shop told me it was resinator so staight piped exhaust. Still have noise and no answere to problem. Thought may be new clutch but have problem when out of gear wheather stopped or coasting with engine running at 1600 RPM. Noise leaves at higher and lower RPMs. Noise reminds me of electric fan with blade out of balance and bad bearing.











98. 5 Flame Red Cummings w/94000 miles. Tow 29ft fifth wheel.

Straight piped 12/23/02. Nerf bars,seat coversand CB radio.

The 98/99 year models had a problem with an orifice in the heater line that can cause the noise you are describing. The section has a link to a TSB that tells you how to remove this little orifice and stop the noise.
