3500 GVWR Single vs. Dually

Tow a boat from MD to Reno?

EricBu12, How far are you from Little Sahara? I've seen it many times in ATV mags, gonna try that and some coastal riding in Oregon one of these days.

. There is a riding area just north of Las Vegas on I-15 at Apex Rd. exit 57 on the south side of the freeway. That is a new favorite place of mine.

That's called Apex or the Nellis Dunes. To be honest it's not the best place to ride. I can't image you'd travel all the way down here to ride that. My co-worker's friend got shot dead there while riding about 4 years ago by a richochet. Lot of crime around that area as well and not to mention the head-ons and such.

We LOVE riding in Utah! We roll out to Coral Pink in the mid-spring timeframe, then hit the mountains for some world-class trail riding. We're duners at heart and do it most of the time.

Let me know when you're coming back down and I'll be happy to point you to some much better places to ride than Apex.

Nice rig Eric! On the shocks i love how my bilsteins control the truck with a trailer and also when plowing i weight 12000-13000 (truck only) they do great. I drive customers trucks all the time who have Rancho's,and IMO they dont last but a few months, and they cant control the truck anymore.

On being overweight,If i were you,at the minimum I'd re-register the truck for 11000Lbs,and make sure the registered GCWR covers your actual weight when fully loaded. If needed, a good attorney could argue that you are below the limits of the weakest links, axles and tires, and therefore you are safe in the eyes of the DOT,if its good enough for them,it should more than satisfy there requirements. Also maybe get a letter from your insurance if you can to ensure you will have coverage at that weight. Anyone can be sued ,even if your under 8800. You just want to ensure your insurance co will be there if needed.

Beast2B,

I live about 2 hours from little sahara. The only thing is you have to make sure there is no wind there as it stirs up quite a dust storm on the hard flat areas where the trailers are. Other than that, there are 2 Campground areas with wet toilets in the warm months and you can camp almost anywhere in the area on the hardpack...

Little sahara is north of Delta UT on hwy 6. pretty much straight west of Nephi, UT. If you go I-15 north to Nephi, go west on hwy 132 for aprox 15 miles then look for a sign to turn right on for another about 10-15 miles til you come to a crossroad (hwy 6) go straight across into the road for Little shara. follow signs. The place is $8/day and that includes camping. $10/day on busy holiday weekends. After the visitors center, take note of the "# of days since last serious accident" sign. Las time we were there, it said 1. hehe.
