Computers --tdr article
The reason I posted before was just to point out what the tdr article was saying about computers and reflash. The article was referring to hunting and constant back and forth shifting in and out of overdrive. It basically said that on earlier trucks a sensor or bad sensor was usually the cause. the newer the truck ,the more likely a computer reflash was necessary and the more likely special service tools would need to be used to diagnose the problem --in other words the dealer service dept. I , like you, want to keep my truck away from the dealer because some of them will do reflashes whether you want them or not. The issue of the oil pressure warning being defeated comes to mind.
My home computer got ''reflashed '' by installing a printer. the software to install this printer so corrupted this computer that ,the printer or no other printer could be installed. We had the whole memory erased,re-installed windows 98 ,and the printer still could not be installed. Every other function of the computer works fine. I have to wonder about all the electronic noise that these fueling boxes generate and what effect it has on the factory settings -- especially if the connections vibrate loose .
The only bomb i will consider for now is 275's . If my truck does not work, I can't work either. I would like to buy an older one-- maybe a 12 valve -- and bombs away.
