Took my truck in for the noise I hear at Idle in Neutral... Had the trans tech listen. . Says it is the Imput shaft Bearing and is completely normal. Not the Clutch. Like I said in my earlier post it wasn't that loud etc. . Says of course if it gets worse to bring it in, but at this point its a combination of the DUall Mass FLywheel and Shaft bearing.

It will get worse and you will get screwed by mopar as I did on my truck. They replaced my dual mass because of noise then later vibration. It started again at 40,000 on my 2005 then we got the same reply as you did and were told that there was no solution. Now at 85,000 they said it is not under warranty. We do not even pull a trailer just idle alot which causes the most problems. Oo.

I recently took delivery of my G-56 and hope to have many trouble free miles use out of it. Southbend Clutch has the aftermarket longevity solution to the the dual mass setup. Compared to what I had invested in my DTT in my '99,it will be very cost effective. Sorry you're unhappy.

I'm not unhappy at all. I bought some AMSOIL ATF and I have hear great reviews on it. Noise actually seems to be getting better this week!! Haven't put the AMSOIL in yet, will do that in the next couple of days. My Dealership is great and since I only have 5,000 on the truck, if it does break, I have bumper to bumper coverage to 85,000. WHich is usually when I trade them off anyway! Thanks :D

G56 DMF Vibration

PHarris,

You reported a vibration with the DMF, can you offer further details about the vibration? DId you get to see the old DMF? Would it vibrate (parked, neutral, foot off clutch pedal) just by slowly bring up the RPM? Mileage?
