Interesting project, is the LT1 completely stock then? How much you figure you have spent on this so far out of curiosity?

Thanks

Great job on the project. Looks like it took a shoe horn and a great big pry bar to get that in :D! What trans. are you using? When will the maiden voyage be? Love to hear how it runs.

kat-about 6k so far, for a total of 11k in the car. i will recoup about 1500 upon sale of porsche engine and misc. parts. if i can finish the car @ 20-22k i'll be happy. ( i'm pretty much redoing everthing-paint and body will be a big hit)

work2muchplay2little- the engine actually fits very well! plenty of room to get to everthing for servicing etc. i am using the original Porsche 5 sp transaxle. i had driven the car about 500 miles, but all within a few miles of home. drove the car 800 miles round trip this weekend. we went to Bristal, TN for the nascar race. the car was flawless! got between 17 and 19 mph and that was turning 3300-3800 rpm the entire time! cant wait to get a turbo gearbox to bring the rpm down some. other than being a little warm (no a/c yet) it was a great ride. i was more than a little nervous treading that far from home for the first time. at the first stop for gas my son was at the front of the car and says "dad, whats this? do we use red antifreeze?" i went running up there only to find a large red puddle right under the radiator! after a little inspection i determined my car was not the culprid, damn scary though.
